| My name is Jonathan Tucker and I'm a student in San Diego, CA. Raised in a family by a family therapist mother and an entrepreneurial father, I had a balanced interest between pursuing business ventures while still being able to help those in need. It was this balanced need that sparked my interest in writing this website and the book that I'm currently working on about parents understanding teens, in an effort for parents to better understand their teens.

Why Did I Start This Project? My childhood included frustration at what I saw around me: many peers got involved with drugs, didn’t understand that importance of education, or made otherwise bad decisions that negatively affected their lives. One event that still touches my life each and everyday is the memory of burying a childhood friend. This friend, who I will fictitiously call “Robby” but will always remain anonymous on this blog and in my book out of respect for his family and friends, got involved with a crowd of peers that accepted drugs as being ok. It was this crowd that provided Robby with the drugs (Oxycotin pills) that eventually killed him one tragic evening. If only this group of young people realized the consequences of drug use, maybe Robby would still be alive today. How I Will Help You Through his blog postings, book publication, and in person presentations, I aim to help parents have a better understanding of what goes on in their teenagers world. If parents can better relate to their teen then the can surely better manage the risks of the teenage world and be better parents. - how to know if your teen is involved with drugs
- how to know if your teen’s friends are involved with drugs
- is your teen involved in a relationship that could lead to teen pregnancy, a violent breakup or other fight, etc
- how can you better relate to your teens hobbies and favorite past times
I aim to help you understand all of this and much more. -Thanks for taking the time to browse through my website. I think it’s really important for me to do my absolute best to help you better understand your teens. Burying my childhood friend due to a tragic drug related incident was one of the life changing moments in my life; it’s my goal to help you ensure that other teens never have to go through a similar situation. I’d love to hear your thoughts and questions regarding my postings and my book. Please feel free to comment on the postings, as I take the time read every posting in an effort to learn what parents’ concerns are. Jonathan Tucker |
